A Touring Exhibition Depicts Finland’s History

After being successfully staged in Stockholm, Budapest, Chisinau and other European capitals, FINLAND THROUGH THE AGES – THE STORY OF THE FINNS IN WORDS AND IMAGES arrives in Sofia.
So a University St. Kliment Ohridski will be the next stop of the international travelling exhibition depicting Finland as part of Sweden and of the Russian empire, as well as an independent nation, between 9 and 19 March 2011.
The Alma Mater Gallery will open its doors to a cultural and at the same time instructive event bringing together students, scholars, teachers and friends of Finland. The exhibition will be opened by Ms. Tarja Laitiainen, Ambassador of Finland to Bulgaria, and Prof. Ivan Ilchev, Rector of Sofia
University, on 9 March 2011 at 17.30 h. The aim of the organizers is to provoke the curiosity not only of students studying Finnish language and culture, but also of academics, Bulgarian of cials, artists, members of the diplomatic corps, journalists and all those interested in history.
You are welcome to attend the opening and see the exhibition. You will be able to lm the event and take pictures as well as to interview the Ambassador of Finland Tarja Laitiainen and the Rector of Sofia University.
