The 9 finalists for this years MEDEA Awards have been selected. The finalists were announced on October the 22nd. Teams from Spain, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, France and Britain will participate in the finals of the competition for multimedia education.
Last years winner was prof. Uwe Gutwirth, University of Education Salzburg with his entry “The Merchant of Venice”. It is a computer game for accounting students. They play as Venetian merchants in the 15th century. They earn money by trading with foreign countries and investing their profit in real estate, meanwhile practicing their accounting skills such as double-entry bookkeeping.
This year the competition attracted more than 200 candidates from 32 countries.
