7 000 bulgarian university students have participated in the Work and Travel programme. – said Borislav Milkov, a consultant for student programmes in the USA.

In his opinion students that participate in the programme for a first year come back in Bulgaria with between 4 000 – 6 000 dollars. Most of them invest the money in their education and go back again the following summer.
Most of the bulgarians work in the tourism sector as waitresses, receptionists, house keepers. They also aim to find a second job in order to save more money.
